Group Weight Loss Coaching Class
When I came into this class I had a lot of familiarity with nutrition, but my underlying issues of emotional eating and over eating have kept me from acheiving my goals. This class had reminded me of some things I have known, such as tracking food and relating them to emotions and different types of situations. And in addition I have been able to dig deeper into some real core issues such as relationships that trigger over eating, identity issues with envisioning myself at goal, and new techniques to tackle them. As someone who has dieted and watched my weight since I was 13 years old I can honestly say I feel like I am finally tapping into the real issues that have caused me to keep weight on. What purpose is your fat serving? We were asked this in the first class and I think about it every day. That phrase alone lets me safely ask myself - is this what you really want? This course has put new light to the phrase ' If hunger is not the problem, food is not the answer' in my life. I also like the class size and structure. It created a safe environment for some women with silmilar issues to talk and share and learn together. The group setting also made this type of coaching affordable for my budget that I may not have been able to afford otherwise. I highly recommend this course to anyone struggling with their weight and ready to make a change!

"I first attended one of [kj's] 5 week fitness classes that she holds. Even though I use to work out at the gym all the time it has been quite a few years so I felt taking [kj's] class would get me back into the swing. It did! What was great was Kathy taught us some very effective excersizes using a yoga ball that we could easily do at home. Once the class was complete I hired [kj] ot come to the gym with me and show me a routine that would provide me with fairly quick results and that would super-charge my metabolism. [kj] is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and non judgemental; it was very comfortable working with [kj] and I will hire her again in the future. I find that keeping my eating behavior journal is very helpful, especially when I do my assessment at the end of the day and see all the positive things I have accomplished and figure out which things I may still want to change. Staying Healthy with Fitting in Getting Fit
KJ has tremendous knowledge for what she does and she is very good at doing it. I have learned some great tricks from her that I never knew. She also has helped me with eating better and staying healthy. I have really enjoyed being in her fitting in and getting fit class and would highly recommend this class to anyone.

How KJ's strength training class helped me live pain-free
I am now in the middle of my second session of strength training classes by KJ. I’m a 61 year-old grandmother, I hate going to the gym, and I hate having after-work commitments. But I also have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, and what I really hate having to curl up into a fetal position ball to roll myself out of bed in the morning, then pop pills twice a day in order to get through my life without pain !
I bought a set of weights when the doctor suggested that strengthening exercises would help me overcome my pain. It worked- some. But since I did not know how to use the weights correctly, or what exercises would work best, I wasn’t getting what I really needed. Until, that is, I started my fist class with kj.
Kj’s class is early in the evening, so I still have time to unwind and do things when I get home. And the class is so enjoyable that every week I find myself surprised that it’s over so fast ! In class, kj monitors each of us, gives individualized attention and suggestions, and tailors her instructions to each of us. The result: for me - I have very little pain any more -I haven’t taken an Aleve in I don’t know how long !!! I can do the routines at home during the week, as often as my schedule permits, and I really do feel good ! No kidding ! Strength training is all the doctor said it could be, but not until you learn how to do it right ! I am very grateful to my daughter for dragging me along to the class that first night. No one has to drag me any more- my stability ball, bands and weights are ready & waiting by the door on class night !!!!
I highly recommend kj’s class for women of any ability level, physical condition (within reason, of course !!!) or level of gym-phobia. And no one’s paying me to say ANY of this !!!
